AYLUS-Oyster Bay

In 2022, at the young age of 14, Christina Mink embarked on her journey with the Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States (AYLUS), a student-run nonprofit organization committed to making a positive impact. AYLUS quickly became an integral part of her life, and as an active member, she engaged in various volunteer activities, from removing invasive plants to cleaning beaches. These experiences filled her with immense pride for her contributions to the community.

In March 2023, fueled by her passion for environmental conservation, Christina, along with her school friends, founded the AYLUS-Oyster Bay Branch. With a focus on preserving the environment, they not only participated in regular volunteer activities but also brought innovative ideas to the table. One such initiative involved promoting eco-friendly products crafted from natural, recycled, and biodegradable materials, such as bamboo toothbrushes, biodegradable bags, and fiber-based houseware, all aimed at reducing plastic usage.

To spread awareness and raise funds for environmental protection causes, they set up booths at summer festival markets to sell their eco-friendly products. Additionally, they planned to collaborate with local retailers and participate in Green Events, utilizing various social media platforms to showcase their sustainable items to a broader audience.
